The Mission

The mission of the Worship Ministry at St. Luke's Church is to assist clergy in developing meaningful and engaging worship services that inspire spiritual growth and community connection. The ministry seeks to foster worship through music, prayer, study, and fellowship, supporting the congregation’s spiritual journey and enhancing the overall worship experience.

How to join ?

To join the Worship Ministry at St. Luke's Church, follow these steps:

  1. Express Interest: Speak with a current Worship Ministry member or church leadership to express your desire to join.
  2. Attend Ministry Meetings: Participate in ministry meetings or events to learn more about the group’s activities and how you can contribute.
  3. Get Involved in Worship: Start assisting in areas such as music, prayer, or organizing services. You may help with leading worship, coordinating special events like singspirations, or supporting church services.
  4. Commit to Participation: Regularly participate in the ministry’s activities, including Bible studies, prayer meetings, and retreats, to grow spiritually and support the ministry’s mission.
  5. Offer Your Talents: If you have musical skills, a passion for organizing worship, or experience in liturgical practices, offer your gifts to support the ministry’s work.

Common outreach initiatives and projects of the Worship Ministry at St. Luke's Church include:
  1. Singspirations: Organizing special musical worship events, such as Singspirations on key Sundays throughout the year, encouraging congregational participation in praise and worship.
  2. Prayer Ministry: Hosting prayer meetings and circulating prayer requests among members to support the spiritual needs of the congregation.
  3. Small Group Bible Study:  Engaging in Bible study 2 Saturday in every month and periodic spiritual retreats where members engage in worship, prayer, and reflection, allowing for personal and collective spiritual growth.

Other church activities:

  1. Leading the Let’s Talk Church discussion sessions focused on worship, prayer, and understanding Anglican rites and rituals. These sessions are held after Sunday worship and are open to the wider congregation
  2. Lending support to other organisations (e.g. the church’s music, dance and drama ministries)
  3. Organising and hosting the Agapé Meal which is held each year on Maundy Thursday to commemorate the Last Supper when Jesus shared the Passover meal with his disciples on the night before he was betrayed.
  4. Hosting free family movie evenings aimed at strengthening community connections and providing opportunities for fellowship within the church.

Fundraisers: Raising funds through events such as bazaars and Easter bun sales to help support the work of the ministry
