The Role of a Father

FIFTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

PROPER 8

The Role of a Father

The role of a father should be to make all the necessary sacrifices.

To ensure the needs of the family are met.

To establish discipline and ensure that the core values are upheld.

The role of a father should not be diminished by excuse of poverty.

The role of a father is essential to good family life. It is the pillars on which a good home is established. A good father is the centre of everything that a home desires.

The role of father is very important in the life of his children.  He needs to garner the knowledge of what it takes to be a father,

Value his contribution to the life of his children knowing that his absence from their life could cause irreparable damage.

The role of a father is to provide love and protection for his children; He should seek the best welfare for them. He should give them his love and respect.

He should ensure that they find a refuge of love and strength in him. He should stand behind, beside and with them always,

The role of a father is to be there in times of celebration, in times of sorrow,

In times of joy, in times of pain, in times of sickness and in times of health.

He should cherish his children for as long as he lives and offer them the strength of his wisest counsel and comfort.

The role of a father should not be diminished by excuse of poverty. Fatherhood with visionary leadership is a good component of a successful family life.

Fatherhood is much more than sexual pleasures;

It should be a commitment to values.
