A Father's Strength Comes From God

Happy Father’s Day!!!
Reflecting on our readings today, we are reminded that fatherhood is a sacred calling that requires strength, humility, faith and a dependence on GOD.
In Psalm 86, David cries out to the Lord in prayer, acknowledging his need for God’s mercy, guidance and protection. He declares that there is none like GOD, whose love is unfailing and whose power is unmatched. David’s prayer teaches that true strength is not found in self-reliance but in trusting GOD completely.
This is a message every father (in the broadest sense – not just biological) should embrace.
Fathers often carry great responsibility – providing, protecting, guiding and nurturing their families. Yet, like David, fathers need GOD’s help daily. The greatest fathers do not have all the answers but know exactly where to turn when problems/challenges arise. A father who seeks GOD becomes a source of wisdom, stability and encouragement to those entrusted to his care.
The scripture reminds us on many occasions that when we find ourselves in desperate/serious situations, GOD hears our cries and makes a way where there seems to be none. He sees our pain and provides for our needs and reaffirms his promises concerning our future.
Fathers may face moments of uncertainty, hardship or concern for their children, but GOD hears the cries of his people. He is a GOD of provision, hope and divine purpose.
On this Father’s Day,
WE:
HONOUR the men who faithfully serve their families with love and sacrifice,
CELEBRATE fathers who pray for their children, work diligently on their behalf and seek to leave a legacy of faith, ENCOURAGE those fathers facing challenges to trust in the GOD who listens, strengthens and provides.
May every father be reminded that GOD’s Grace is sufficient, his STRENGTH is available and his PROMISE sure.
As the Psalm declares; “Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness”.
May this be a prayer for every father today;
Father,
We thank you for the gift of fathers. Bless them with the wisdom, courage, patience and unwavering faith. Strengthen them when they are weary, guide them when decisions are difficult and encourage them when challenges arise. Help them to lead with love, integrity and compassion.
Remind every father that you hear their prayers and care deeply for their families. May they continue to trust in your goodness and walk confidently in your purpose for their lives. In Jesus’ name. AMEN
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
May GOD show you his favour, strengthen your hands and fill your heart with peace and joy.
